Welcome to the 2009 CT State Employees' Campaign!

Each year, employees at all Connecticut state agencies have the opportunity to participate in the Connecticut State Employees' Charitable Campaign (CSEC). This provides us with the opportunity to come together as one community and give back to the organization(s) of our choice, through one campaign. Hundreds of agencies participate in this campaign, from groups promoting the arts to the environment to medical research. With so many groups involved, we hope you will find something of interest.

A Message from President Hogan

August 26, 2009

President HoganDear Colleagues and Friends:

We’re beginning a new year at UConn and, in spite of the uncertainties in the face of the weakened economy and the state’s budget problems, we also have new opportunities to make our university, and our individual part in it, more meaningful to the people we serve.

For several years we’ve been a proud partner with the Connecticut State Employees Campaign (CSEC) for Charitable Giving.  To better organize our efforts and coordinate our participation, I’ve established a Steering Committee now hard at work to strengthen this relationship. Stefanie Landsman is this year’s Storrs-campus campaign coordinator. The active dates for our 2009 campaign extend from September 10 through October 30.

The CSEC provides each of us the opportunity to give to charitable organizations of our choice through a payroll deduction.  The nearly 1000 organizations listed on the campaign’s website support important activities that benefit our neighbors, our communities, our environment, and our heritage as a community that cares for its members.

The committee’s goal for this 2009 campaign is to increase our Storrs-campus participation. This will move the University closer to the level already achieved by our colleagues at the Health Center, and our higher education cousins – the Connecticut State University system and Regional Community Colleges.  It’s important that we give back to the communities that support our university and our mission.

Please consider contributing this year!  Sign up for as little as $1 per pay period.  Look through the on-line listing on our website at http://csec.uconn.edu/   You’ll see what a wonderful difference your contribution can make, whatever the amount.

Our volunteer campaign coordinators will have hard-copy brochures available, listing the organizations that participate.  Don’t hesitate to approach your department coordinator if you have questions or would like to see the full brochure.

Your completed pledge form may be returned to your department coordinator or mailed directly to Stefanie Landsman in Student Affairs at U-4121.
